What is the best way to make coffee from unground beans?

Question by Viva la Vida: What is the best way to make coffee from unground beans?

Yes, I do have a bean grinder, lest ye attempt to answer a question with a question. But I remember this one time when I had coffee made from whole beans, and it was the strongest coffee I had (and have) ever tasted. How can I make such a coffee at home with a standard coffee maker?

You have to grind the beans if you plan on using a standard coffee maker.

If you want the coffee stronger, add more grounds than you normally would.
