i’m working in the uk and in cafes a muffin is around and a slice of carrot or cheese cake is . keispy kreme donuts are over . there are no free soda or coffee refills anywhere ! has anyone else encountered this while visiting the uk?

i got the whole system with a pod storage container and a bag of pods for a special “try it” promotion for ( value). i was afraid of the cost of pods too. if you get them on sale, they’re not bad. i got a bag of 16 sumatra pods for the other day.

if you’re young, drink all you want.

coffee in small doses (one or two cups a day) can jumpstart your brain and boost your digestion. its ability to (temporarily) boost cognitive power is recognized across the board. but in large doses, caffeine does more harm than good, like overstimulating your heart and increasing the frequency of headaches.

I tried looking it up on Google, but have found no hard facts that the candy has caffeine in it, or that they have more caffeine than a regular cup of coffee.

Coffee beans are a great gift! Since you’re buying several types, you might like to buy those little packets of coffee which are just enough to make one pot. They don’t come in bean form, but are already ground and come in all kinds of flavors.

If you’d prefer to buy the coffee unground, ask the person behind the counter how much to buy for a pot. Coffee shop employess are great–well trained and very willing to help. The person may ask you what kind of pot your friend has, which brings up a question you need to know the answer to.

Does your friend have a coffee grinder? If not, either buy one to go with the coffee or make sure you buy the coffee already ground. I do have a grinder, but I have the shop grind it. I do love fresh coffee, but I’m only willing to do so much work for it.

It’s hardly anything. I was thinking of this once as i had high blood pressure and the coffee only raises it something insignificant like 5mmgh. So if you have a high BP get it checked out, don’t assume it’s the coffee.

The LD50 of caffeine in humans is dependent on weight and individual sensitivity and estimated to be about 150 to 200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass, roughly 80 to 100 cups of coffee for an average adult taken within a limited time frame.

Though achieving lethal dose with caffeine would be exceptionally difficult with regular coffee, there have been reported deaths from overdosing on caffeine pills.
