Question by teelob: What is a good name for a coffee and pastry shop?

I’m thinking about opening a gourmet coffee house in my area and need a good name. A name that will catch attention but also is clear that the business involves coffee (espresso). I’ve played with the idea of using my name (Tammy’s …..) but it doesn’t seem very “coffee” to me! I appreciate any and all suggestions! Thanks!
I would like it to be a combination of a place that you can pick up and go but also a trendy, comfortable atmosphere that you can hang out at, read, play chess and socialize. I’m picturing some standard cafe tables and chairs and also big “fluffy” chairs in groups .

Question by melbow35: How to make a good cup of coffee?

I have a 12 cup coffee maker and I am using Maxwell House it says to use 1/2 of coffee but when I do it’s to strong and I try less and it tastes weak. Everyone I ask says use 2 tablespoons per cup. How do you make your coffee?

Best answer:

Answer by BBQGuide
First off… ditch the Maxwell House. Then get a coffee grinder and after that get some of the dunkin donuts breakfast blend BEANS and grind your own to taste. More detailed instructions available just ask me.

Best answer:

Answer by oPEEPINGTOMo
I wouldn’t drink it, because it will honestly probably taste gross even if it isn’t harmful. Even a bag of coffee beans that are still good but have already been opened for 3 weeks and forward start tasting funky.

Was the bag never opened?

Question by Corran: What are some good ways to flavor coffee without adding sugar and calories?

I’m trying to stay away from fatty and sugary flavored creamers. Right now I put in a dash of cinnamon and just enough non-fat milk to lighten the color. I read that putting some orange peels in the coffee grounds while brewing makes for an interesting flavor, but I haven’t tried it yet. Anyone else do anything interesting?

Best answer:

Answer by Patricia Payne
Well I have used Honey and maple syrup, the homeade kind as it is all natural. The honey is natural too.

I have a basketball game tomorrow in the noon at 11 and I’m planning on getting some quick and easy mcdonald’s but I don’t know if getting an iced coffee would be a good or bad idea. I went to some sites and some said it improved performance and some said it reduces blood flow so can someone that knows about this stuff help me pleeease.

Best answer:

Answer by Robert D
Bad. When you crash you have no energy. Ingest slow burning carbs such as starches and grains in the hours before an event to have sustained energy. A sports drink such as Gatorade will provide fast energy during the event. Coffee can also dehydrate you.
