I bought one Cafe Rosto 3 years ago and have roasted about 25 pounds of coffee over that time. The machine worked fine as I gradually learned how to use it. The beans must be emptied from the roaster and cooled as soon as the desired roast color is attained. The cool-down cycle is just not fast enough to keep the beans from being over-roasted. During the last roast there was a noise and the machine was obviously in distress. I could hear something loose so I disassembled it. The motor is like the fan motor found in your average bathroom exhaust fan. The motor is held in place by two screws to a bakelite plate that is about 1/8 of an inch thick. That bakelite plate just disintgrated, precipitating the motor and fan into the surrounding housing. This machine is constructed of cheap materials and some stainless steel. It cannot operate very long before it will need major repairs. There may not be many of these available now and that is a good thing.
