Tim Hortons’ Iced Cap Supreme

Tim Hortons Iced CapI was just out to Tim Hortons and noticed that they now offer two variations of their Iced Caps referred to as Iced Cap Supreme. I know one of them was a Mint Chocolate, but I don’t recall the other flavour. They look tasty, but at $2.49 for a small, I’ll stick to my double double for now.  Maybe when my shoes start melting on the sidewalk I’ll dish out the money! lol

‘Top employer’ Starbucks has a crack in its image

NEW YORK – Four years ago, when he first donned a green apron at the Starbucks at Madison Avenue and 36th Street, Daniel Gross must have looked like any other scruffy college grad in need of a paycheck and a shave. Within a few months, though, it was clear that this Los Angeles native with the perpetual stubble was something very different: the Norma Rae of the Caramel Macchiato.

Soon after he started, Gross and some fellow baristas began to meet at each other’s homes to gripe about their jobs. The pace was exhausting, the store chronically understaffed and, under Starbucks’s “flexible” scheduling rules, the number of hours they worked could change week to week, leaving them unsure of how much they would earn.

Wake up… And smell the coffee.

Wake up… And smell the coffee.

At first glance this seems like a great gift for the coffee lover in the family.  This alarm clock emits a wonderful smell of coffee to entice you to get up rather than hitting the snooze another dozen times.  Just like the folgers’ commercials showing people waking up with a huge smile on their face because of the smell of freshly brewed coffee flowing from their kitchen into their bedroom, this alarm takes on the same concept.

Ok, I admit the smell of coffee would help me get out of bed in the morning, but imagine the irriatation and disappointment to be awakened by the smell of coffee only to find out that it’s fake.  Now I have to drag my tired ass down to the coffee maker, throw out the old grinds, clean the pot, and then wait for the thing to brew.  No thanks.  I would much rather get the coffee ready the night before, set the automatic programmer, and then I can be awakened by the smell of coffee that is actually waiting for me to enjoy.
